“ Tucked away in the bustling heart of Kota Bharu lies Dream Coffee & Pastry – a modern-day sanctuary for both coffee aficionados and pastry enthusiasts. Its modern industrial decor, characterized by a harmonious fusion of contemporary flair and rustic accents, provides an inviting atmosphere that sets the perfect stage for a culinary journey. Upon stepping into this aesthetically pleasing cafe, patrons are greeted with an abundance of seating arrangements, suggesting a warm welcome for groups large and small. Beyond its practicality, the cafe's design elements are meticulously curated to delight the Instagram-savvy – every corner of this establishment is a potential backdrop for the next insta-worthy post. Among the array of pastries, a standout is their distinctive panna cotta with strawberry foam. This innovative coupling introduces an airy dimension that contrasts divinely with the creamy decadence of the panna cotta. The dessert resonates with the craftsmanship of a skilled patissier, where every spoonful is a symphony of lush softness and delicate frothiness that waltzes on the palate. Though appealing, the crème brûlée slightly misses its classical mark. Its custard lands on an eclectic mix of sweetness and flavor yet dallies towards a looser consistency than traditionalists might expect. The caramelized sugar crust dons a robustness that could deter a gentle tap of the spoon. While these deviations may suit some preferences, fine-tuning the firmness of the custard and the brittleness of its sugared shield could elevate this dessert from satisfactory to sublime. Chocolate lovers will find solace in the cafe's intricate chocolate cake. Aptly described as a luxurious journey, it boasts a formidable chocolate profile with varied textures that cascade from moist sponge to silky ganache. This chocolate creation doesn't just satisfy a craving; it caters to a connoisseur's pursuit for indulgence. A more humble offering, the brownies, present a satisfactory if unremarkable experience. While they're well-executed, a touch of distinctiveness could enhance their appeal in a market rich with options. However, the hot chocolate stands towering above the expectations of its name. A velvety potion that boasts a bold cocoa essence and a dreamy consistency, it confidently beckons for a future encore. Dream Coffee & Pastry transcends the usual cafe offerings, merging stunning architectural design with a dessert menu that captivates and occasionally transcends. With its alluring charm and dedication to satisfying the sweet tooth, this cafe not only beckons a return visit but demands it. A venue highly recommended for a taste of dessert innovation and aesthetic pleasure. ”
“ Had a fantastic experience here. The coffee was great, but the standout was the exceptional customer service—efficient, attentive, and professional. A great place to enjoy a quality drink with top-notch service! ”
“ Finally I found something European here. Food is small but delicious. I like their food menu, it fits best with my usual meal. Thank you a lot. Trimakasi I ordered beef burger and affogato. I forgot to take a photo of burger. It was tasty but a little small. Affogato very good. A lot of ice-cream. ”
“ I randomly found this cafe and it was marvellous. There’s not many people and the cafe was big. They served good food too (the almond cheese tiramisu is to die for) and the price is quite reasonable. Will definitely come again if i am around the city ”
“ the mushroom pie fix my taste. cold latte also good. nice place to relax & eat. ”
“ I’d give 10 stars for the customer service, kudos! One of the best experiences I’ve had here so far. The coffee was unexpectedly good, and the environment was nice, with a spacious area and plenty of plug points; a big plus, loved it. The only downside is the limited parking, which can be quite troublesome. ”
“ On a busy street in Kota Bharu, right in front of the Cheng Ho arch, we stumbled upon a café that piqued our interest. The menu was not that extensive so we only intended to try a few of their pastries. We ordered the Croissant Set, which included a croissant, one boiled egg, a hashbrown, and some salad. We also ordered a chicken and mushroom pie, a cappuccino, and a chocolate frappe separately. From the first bite of their croissant, we knew we had to explore more of the menu. The croissant’s outer layer was perfectly flaky, while the inside was buttery, fluffy, and just salty enough to balance the flavors. It was undoubtedly the highlight of the set, as the salad and hashbrown were standard but satisfying. Our son then ordered the Buttermilk Mac and Cheese. We were hesitant at first—many cafés struggle to get this dish right, and only a few truly nail it. Thankfully, we were wrong. The dish was incredibly savory, with a unique twist. While it didn’t taste like the classic Baked Mac and Cheese, it was still delicious, with a pleasant hint of spice in the buttermilk-based gravy. It wasn’t what we expected, but it was definitely a hit. Feeling adventurous after that, I decided to try the Duck Carbonara Spaghetti, a dish that had caught my eye from the start. Admittedly, its appearance wasn’t promising, and we feared it might not live up to the classic baked mac and cheese. But after the first bite, we were intrigued. It tasted different from the traditional carbonara we’re used to—more like a Malaysian version made with cooking cream or evaporated milk. Italian purists might find it unusual, but we found it enjoyable. The oregano was a bit overpowering at first, but the flavor mellowed with each bite, and it grew on us. The service was another highlight. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they never seemed bored while attending to us. They even brought us complimentary drinking water without us needing to ask, which was a nice touch and added to the positive experience. As for the price, we found it quite affordable. The total for five food items and two drinks came to around RM100, which felt reasonable. The ambiance of the café was another highlight—it was spacious, inviting, and had a calming, homey feel, unlike the cramped environments of many other cafés. For anyone with similar tastes, this café is definitely worth a visit. ”
“ Lovely cafe in KB that has halal sign in front of their cafe. I ate their duck carbonara, crème brûlée with ice chocolate and they are all tasty. I spent around 3 hrs here just to do my work as they have plug points near most of their seats, free wifi, cosy and not crowded on weekdays. Also, being thoughtful by giving me water when they realized i might stay long there to do work. Recommended! ”
